Dr Lisa Luger
As a young woman, I left Bavaria to embark on completely new career paths.
I studied and graduated in adult education in Berlin and public health in London. In 2009 I received my PhD from the University of West London on the subject of cultural competence education in healthcare workers. I currently live in London.

I am an experienced health and education professional with a special interest in improving the living conditions of disadvantaged groups.

I have successfully designed and implemented projects in education and public health programs in Germany, UK, Latin America and Asia.
As part of my research work, I carried out evaluations of state measures and programmes for health care and prevention, conducted analysis of health systems and needs analysis in health and education.
My entire professional life has focused on topics such as sexual health, women's health, violence against women, mental health problems, HIV, HepC, drugs and alcohol, diversity and public health (public health care) as well as international developments such as flight, migration and social inequality.

Even after reaching retirement age, I never completely withdrew from professional life. I volunteered for projects in Myanmar and India until the Corona pandemic put an end to travel.

Our blog "RememberRelateReflect" gives me the opportunity to continue to examine social and political phenomena of the past and present and to relate them to the respective zeitgeist.
